Factur-X, XRechnung and Peppol from PrestaShop.

Every PrestaShop invoice gets an EN 16931 e-invoice and every credit slip an e-credit note, with the same number, in four formats. Checked against the published rules and created inside your shop: no external service, nothing sent anywhere.

The problem

Why the PrestaShop PDF invoice is not enough any more

E-invoicing rules for B2B and public-sector sales expect structured EN 16931 data: Factur-X for French and German buyers, XRechnung for German public bodies, Peppol BIS 3.0 in Belgium and other Peppol countries.

The PDF invoice PrestaShop makes is not machine-readable. A second invoicing tool means a second number series, and an external service means fees and order data leaving your shop.

Three ways to send e-invoices from PrestaShop

ApproachHow it worksTrade-off
Accounting softwareImport orders into a tool that issues the e-invoices.Two systems and two number series to keep in step.
External serviceA module sends each order to a paid e-invoicing API.Monthly or per-invoice fees, and order data leaves your shop.
Created in the shopWhat EU E-Invoicing doesThe module builds and validates every format from your PrestaShop invoices and credit slips, with the same numbers.Sending over Peppol or an approved platform still needs that service.

How it works

  1. 01

    Set up the seller

In Modules > Module Manager > EU E-Invoicing > Configure, enter your legal name, VAT ID and bank details, then map your tax rules and payment modules.

  2. 02

    Invoice as usual

When PrestaShop makes an invoice or a credit slip, the e-invoice or e-credit note is created with the same number, and rebuilt if the order is edited.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Files go with the e-mails that carry the PDF invoice, customers download them on their order page, and Orders > E-invoices exports a ZIP for your accountant or platform.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Does it send invoices to the tax authority or over Peppol?

No. It creates the files and delivers them by e-mail, download and ZIP export. Sending through an approved platform or a Peppol access point is done by those services, and the module makes no outbound connection.

Does it change my PrestaShop invoices?

No. The PDF invoice stays as it is; the e-invoice carries the same number and amounts.

Which format do I need?

German public bodies expect XRechnung. Many B2B buyers in Germany and France accept Factur-X / ZUGFeRD, which is also a normal PDF. Belgian and other Peppol buyers expect Peppol BIS Billing 3.0.

The total differs by a cent from the lines. Is that a problem?

No. The e-invoice keeps the exact PrestaShop total and writes the difference as a rounding amount, which EN 16931 allows.

Is this tax advice?

No. The module creates documents in the published formats and checks them. Which format you must send, and to whom, depends on your country and your buyers.
